This is the family for an Elizabeth Campbell who married a George W.
Reeves. The middle initial for Elizabeth is squeezed in on the original and
looks like an A. Census data is not always right. This Elizabeth did
remarry a Champion and E. E. Champion's death does match exactly the date
that Ed gave for his Elizabeth Campbell. The Luther he referred to was born
after the 1880 census. Martha's middle initial was A. so it could have been
Abigail. This isn't my family. I am just throwing out some suggestions to
try and get around a roadblock. I think the death certificate should give
some info. to help confirm or eliminate this Elizabeth.
I have my own two James Campbells that I am trying to confirm! I wish I
could find a death certificate.
I thank all of you who responded to my query.
Carlene may be right on this. I will keep all this info in my paper file.
And I will keep digging until I, or someone else, finds that definitive
proof - if it exists.
Thanks all, especially you Carlene.

Carlene mentioned that the EE Champion's death date matched what I gave.
So, this must be her as this was the date after the entry for Elizabeth E.
Reeves as a death date in the family Bible my cousin found in her Dad's
effects after he passed on last year.
It would appear this woman was married at least twice.
Although, if she was married to Samuel Champion on September 22, 1882 why
was her son Luther Seth, born on September 8, 1882 named Reeves? Could it
be she was pregnant from George at the time? And he kept the name Reeves -
maybe not adopted or acknowledged by Samuel as his?
Oh, the intrique and questions.
I have been working on this group for some time now. I am determined to
crack this or get totally frustrated. Hopefully my cousin can find more
info in her Dad's things.
