Subject: [CAMPBELL] Garrett Campbell's family PA-OH-IN
Thanks for asking about my family in Indiana...here is a little bit
of the
history of them.
My gg grandfather Garrett Campbell b. Born 5 Sep 1821 in Pennsylvania,
Died
3 May 1863 in Battle Of Chancellorsville, Chancellorsville, VA. He
was a
soldier in the 134th PA volunteers and killed in the battle of
Chancellorsville.
His wife at the time...Nancy Jane MCCLYMONDS daughter to poss. William
MCCLYMONDS and definitely Sarah BROWN MCCLYMONDS. Nancy Jane was Born 10
Nov
1835 in Butler County, PA. Died 26 Jun 1916 in Van Wert, OH. She took
HER
children from Butler County, Pennsylvania to Van Wert Co., Ohio where her
mother and sister were living next door to her mother's brother William
Brown (according to the 1870 census).
At the time Garrett also had 2 children from a previous marriage. Children
with Garret's first wife Sarah Jane Jamison were Alexander born 18 Dec
1850
and Adaline E. (Adda or Addie)born Born 8 Jun 1853. Nancy Jane handed
over
guardianship of Adda to J.N. Glenn of Butler County, PA in 1867. Adaline
would have been about 14 years old at the time. Alexander would have
already
been about 17 and presumeably on his own. No further information on
Alexander or Adaline.
Garrett and Nancy Jane's children:
Abraham Orlando CAMPBELL. Born 25 May 1859 in Butler County, PA. Died 10
Apr
1944 in New Castle, Henry Co., IN.
William G. CAMPBELL. Born 16 Oct 1860 in Butler Co. PA.
John W. A. CAMPBELL. Born 15 Dec 1861 in Butler Co. PA.
Abraham Orlando my g grandfather married Phoebe Jane MILLS, daughter of
Joseph Nelson MILLS & Margaret Amelia ADAMS, 8 Oct 1887 in Bluffton, Wells
County, IN. Born 26 Oct 1868 in Farmland, IN. Died 10 Jun 1959 in Ball
Hospital, Muncie, Delaware County, IN.
Would like any information on this family including any information on
Abraham's brothers and sister...Alexander, Adaline, William and John.
