AT & Leona:
I was searching for a Revolutionary War record for George Campbell
(allegedly born in 1743). George's son John died in 1859 (two years prior
to the start of the Civil War). John had at least one son (Willis Campbell)
that served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and was shot at
Sparpsburg. Willis Campbell received an old-age/disability discharge that
was "approved by orders of General Lee". I have a copy of this discharge
record from NARA (National Archives) in Washington, DC.
Another son of John, Wyatt Campbell had a son, Willis (obviously named after
Wyatt's brother, Willis) who also served in the Civil War and was killed on
08 SEP 1863 in the Battle of Richmond.
