Paul,
Yes the record is very close, but the death dates don't match.
The George T. Campbell, Sr married to Elizabeth, was born about 1743, and
died 9-20-1802 Amherst Co.
His Will is in Book #4, page 319, Amherst Co, also see 12-1-1806, Deed Book
K, pg 614, that document will establish the list of children, and one is
called John Campbell.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin

Subject: [CAMPBELL] George Campbell: Revolutionary War Service...
I do not know if this is the same George Campbell that married
Elizabeth
in
Amherst County, VA, but it appears fairly close:
CAMPBELL, George
Birth: Circa 1740
Service: Virginia
Rank: Public Service
Death: VA 21 Oct 1815
Patriot Pensioned: No Widow Pensioned: No
Children Pensioned: No Heirs Pensioned: No
Spouse: (1) X
The aforementioned information comes from the DAR Patriot Index which
means
that someone either entered the DAR or supplemented their DAR
membership
under the descendancy of this George Campbell.
It takes four to six weeks to obtain a copy of a member's approved lineage
application...
