Does anyone know this William?
William Campbell (age 50)appears in the 1860 census of Perry County, TN with
no wife but what appears to be his own children: William 18, James M. 15,
Milton and Nancy 12 (twins), Emily A. 5, Stephen E., 3. All were born in
Tennessee. His Also in his household were 60 year old Lucy PILLOW and her
widowed sister Emily (Pillow) McMACKIN. Next door was William P. McMACKIN,
son of Emily and nephew of Lucy.
Can somebody tell me what relationship may have existed that accounted for
Lucy and Emily living with William CAMPBELL? Emily had a daughter, Mildred
Addie McMACKIN who married Richard CAMPBELL in Lawrence County, TN in 1847
but that Richard was born 1821, seemingly too old to have been a son of this
man.
This must be the same stone mason, William CAMPBELL, (age 40) who was in
Hickman County in 1850 in the household of another William (age 74 NC), Jane
(age 65 NC) and children Wesley, 18, John 12, Kinchen 8, Monroe 6, Milton
and Nancy, age 3. A 30 year old Jane Campbell in the home may have been his
wife or his sister.
