Dear Researchers,
The way the 1830 census looks in Amherst Co and Nelson Co, I am tentatively counting:
Henry and Charity: have 5 households of their descendants, and all are located exclusively
in AMHERST Co, and none in Nelson Co.
Francis and Isabelle: have 2 households of their decendants, located exclusively in Nelson
Co. VA
John and Amelia: have 2 households of their descendants in Nelson Co exclusively.
George and Caty: have 14 households of their descendants in Amherst Co VA, abd 9
households of their descendants in Nelson Co VA.
There are no descendants present in 1830 census, in these 2 locations, for Neil Campbell,
nor George and Margaret Campbell (unless it is later proved that George (m. Caty) is his
son), or James Campbell, Sr and Mary Smith.
Based upon what we know to date.
What household is a MYSTERY to us:
#1. Sarah Campbell b. 1780 to 1790 time frame. She has 2 sons and 2 daughters. Who are
they?
Could she be the widow of James Campbell b. 10-7-1786, s/o William Campbell and Sarah
Goode?
Based upon our families, could she be the widow of anyone else???
#2. Concerning this James Campbell b. 10-7-1786, said to be the son of William Campbell
and Sarah Goode, is this man the James W. Campbell who is the father of Alfred Campbell,
the ancestor of Shirley Craft?
This James does not show up anywhere, so perhaps he is the one who went to Augusta Co
VA???
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
