Thank you Marvin for share these 3 records with us. I will attempt to
identify the 3 Campbell men buying land in those records of Amherst Co VA.
#1. Hugh Campbell: I believe this Hugh Campbell was a man who married
Elizabeth Campbell, d/o Neil Campbell, who had also been in the area.
Elizabeth had been born outside of marriage to Tabithy Ballor, d/o Leonard.
She was Neil's only child, and he left his estate to her. She had been
married first, then married Hugh Campbell as her second husband.
The children of this Hugh and Elizabeth would represent the connection of 2
separate Campbell lines. Are there children? Anyone researching this
couple, or descended of this couple?
#2. Ambrose Campbell: I believe this Ambrose Campbell is b. 1740 died 1811,
s/o Henry Campbell and Charity, of Amherst Co.
#3. William Campbell: I believe this William Campbell is married to Sarah
Goode, and is s/o George and Catharine Campbell. Sarah Goode, d/o Daniel
Goode.
These above 3 Campbell men each come from separate Campbell ancestry, they
are NOT related together as far as we know today, not knowing the ancestors
or each man past what I have stated.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
