Tony,
A short bio of a Frank Campbell who was an assistant at the Museum from 1884 - 1900.

"Francis Bunbury Fitzgerald Campbell was born in 1863 as the fifth son of Sir Edward
Fitzgerald Campbell, third Baronet. His mother was Georgina Theophila. second daughter of
Sir Thomas Theophilus Metcalfe, fourth Baronet. On both sides the Indian connection was
strong. Sir Edward was Colonel in the Indian Army and served as A.D.C. successively to
General Napier, Lord Dalhousie and Lord Canning. Thomas Theophilus Metcalfe was Agent to
the Governor General of India at the Court of Delhi. His brother Charles Theophilus was
Vice Governor of India from 1835 to 1836."
I found reference to a G.T. Campbell in a profile on a website profiling Gregor MacGregor

Subject: Campbell photograpahs
I have inherited a large album of about 100 photos belonging to one
Frank
Campbell. The album dates from the period 1876 to 1901 and it seems that he
was an assistant in the library of the British Museum in London. He also seems
to have had a relative called G.T. Campbell who was a member of the scottish
rugby team in 1894/95.
The photos are wonderfully evocative of the period and I would like it to go
to a descendant of Frank Campbell if they can be located. I am not a
genealogist and do not have time to research this so if there is anyone out there
who could supply information or is willing to pursue this, I would be very
grateful.
Tony Russell-Smith
