A T:
I am not a big fan of just having one family member tested for DNA match.
What if the person submitting the DNA is not a true sibling/cousin, etc.???
Don't tell me it can't happen.... Look at Larry Campbell & compare him to
James Mehlander Campbell - both show Ellis Campbell b 1804 in VA as their
ancestor. Tain't so... Pretty obvious.
If you get a 37/37 match to a different surname, you most likely will find
that somewhere back in time a Campbell met up with a Johnson's wife while
Mr. Johnson was out of town or just the opposite.
In our case... Larry was told by his mom he is a Koonce...other well meaning
family said he was a true Campbell relation via a sibling of Russell..or
even Russell, which turned out to be gossip per the DNA results. Had we not
know Larry may not be a true sibling & used him for the DNA test..we would
have matched noone in the Campbell DNA project.
I agree that if several in one family would test..cousins, etc...this may
help find the lineage for that group...but not just one person testing,
won't work.
Marge in Littlefield, TX... Nice day, mid 80's or lower, breezy, clean after
a rain...smelled so good today! Gas is about 2.89-3.00 per gallon

BUT; Just think of the Savings IF A group of Families could get together &
Then there would be a need for only one Record point, so more Cheaper than
That many Familles each having a separate POINT, Each one could send their
D. N. A. ##,s in & they would be waiting for our Distant Descendants to
Compare <Just something to PONDER>
Please put as much Attention to this Idea as Has been directed to TRASHING
CUZ A T because I had a Question abt D. N. A.
SOMETHING else to Ponder. <atpowelljr(a)aol.com>
