Jean,
Galston is near to Loudoun where a family of Campbells have lived since one
of them married an heiress there in the fourtheenth century. Not much hope
of finding a connection that far back but the likely port of embarcation
when they left would have been Greenock in Renfrewshire. I don't know what
passenger lists survive. I do think that most who arrived in CT would have
come through New York or Boston, but more likely the former. There were
local boats sailing up and down Long Island Sound that served the ports
along the CT coast to and from NYC.
