There was another Rev. Archibald Campbell someone might be interested in.
In the Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Magazine, December, 2003 the
following was written
"The church of England had considerable influence on the lives of
Northern Neck plantation society. Archibald Campbell, a highly educated,
intelligent, attractive and appealing young minister from a Scottish
gentry family, settled in Westmoreland county(Virginia) in 174l. Mr.
Campbell served as rector of Washington parish, and as private teacher to
future leaders of the state and nation for over 30 years until the
revolution. The academic and moral influence he had on his parishioners,
which included the Lee's of Stratford, the Washington's of Wakefield and
both (Chief Justice) John Marshall and (President) James Monroe
classmates in his school was tremendous"
