I am not sure how Ancestry got the index info... but the actual page they
linked to is totally blank... nothing... I checked 5 pages before &
after.. the family not there. Page 11A not there.. goes from 10B to 1A...
that's it.
I am not sure what the social security death info would have. A death
certificate from the county in California may have spouse/parent info, if
the person who provided it knew that information.
My grandpa Buren died in Los Angeles county CA and his death cert has info
as my dad knew it... and it is not correct for his parents.. but has his
wife's name on it.
His marriage cert in MO may or may not contain a lot of information.

Hi again Marge,
I wrote a rather hasty reply befoe, thinking you would still be online
to catch it. Anyhow, I gather you have access to Ancestry, and you're
getting the census info from there, for which I'm very grateful. I
just don't understand how a census page can be blank...how do you get
the details you sent?
As to ascertaining they are the couple I'm looking for, I think maybe
a marriage cert could help confirm it. I found the reference to the
marriage on the IGI, it's an extraction so I'm wondering how one gets
access to the original records, I guess there's nothing in the US as
easy and cheap as scotland's people??? Would a marriage cert have
parents and place of birth? If it helps here is the Batch # M005497.
Also the IGI has a social security death index entry that may be him,
copied below. I have no idea what details they contain or how to
access them. Do you know if they have place of birth, parents or
immigration dates?
George CAMPBELL

I really admire your dedication to the "cause" and your ready
provision of info. I hope I'm not availing myself too much of your
genorisity with all these questions, please don't feel pressured to
answer them in a hurry or indeed at all!
All the best,
Katrina
