Hi Mark,
a comment I made to MacCailein Mor a couple of years back concerned the bad
press of the Campbells my remark was that "the MacDonalds had more
journalists than the Campbells". Obviously, I didn't mean it literally but
it is an explanation as to why the press is bad - the Campbells do not have
anybody writing a balanced view of history.
The clan feud is a load of nonsense and totally blown out of all proportion.
I piped at the Massacre of Glencoe service a couple of years back, was made
more than welcome and have been asked if I am returning this year - the feud
is perpetrated in the pens of the tabloid media and half wits.

Curious relationships considering the history. I descend from MacDonalds
of Scotland. The last couple of generations in Scotland were MacGregor
since there was no MacDonald heir. My MacGregor ancestors came over in the
later 1600's but lost their name as part of the deal.
The bad MacDonald / Campbell history has been forgotten in the USA. Both
my
sister and I married American Campell descendents ;-)
