I've "rescued" an old family photograph of Churchill BRANCH which was taken
at the Mrs. H. M. Berglofs Studio in Concordia, Kansas. The photograph
appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Churchill just 3 months old at
the time the photograph was taken. In addition to his name, someone has
written "isn't he lovely" and "son of Belle CAMPBELL BRANCH and Walter
BRANCH" and "half brother of Isaac" on the back of the photograph.
Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a BRANCH Family
Researcher I was able to gather some census information regarding the family
as follows:
1900 census of Beloit, KS:
Walter T. BRANCH, age 40, born Jul 1859, married 13 years, born WI, parents
born VT/WI, a Hardware Merchant
Minnie B. BRANCH, wife, age 36, born Jul 1863, married 13 years, 2
children/2 living, born WV, parents born WV
Carleton C. BRANCH, son, age 11, born Mar 1889, born KS, at School
Churchill W. BRANCH, son, age 6, born Apr 1894, born KS
1910 census of St. Louis, MO - Carleton BRANCH
1920 census of St. Louis, MO - Walter, Minnie, Carleton, and James BRANCH
1930 census of St. Louis, MO - Carleton & Eugenie BRANCH living with her
parents
I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old
photograph can be returned to the care of his family. If you are a member
of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
