I had to sit and think a moment, as to what FNU meant. Finally it dawned on
me that it stood for "First Name Unknown".
According to a researcher Pat Carter, dated Feb. 22, 2005, Pat researched
Daniel Goode. Pat found that the DAR record for Daniel needed updating, and
based on new evidence that Pat presented, the DAR agreed with the new
The NEW record reads: Daniel Goode died before Dec 21, 1793, and married
first to a Campbell, first name unknown, and second marriage to Phebe
This death date was decided upon because Daniel's daughter Mary Ann Goode's
marriage was not signed by her father Daniel, but was signed by her mother
Phebe, this marriage was Dec 21, 1793.
Daniel Goode and his first wife a Campbell had these children:
William Goode, m. Mary Glidwell
Campbell Goode, m. Elizabeth Duncan
Benjamin Goode, m. Elizabeth Camden
Daniel Goode and his second wife, Phebe Wright, had these children:
Elizabeth, m. William Divis
Mary Ann, m. Jesse Houchins
