Melissa,
I noticed your last name is 'Long'.
That is my maiden name.
They are all from Russell Springs Kentucky and surrounding counties.
My grandmother was Mary Rebecca Hayes Campbell.
She married James Alexander Long.
I'm wondering if maybe we have a connection.
Hope to hear from you.
Theresa

No, not another test, but you can take your results & compare them to other
projects. Someone posted that there were some charges but I haven't found
that yet. Although I wouldn't be surprised. The only thing I've heard
negative so far is that the results are slow in coming back. I did hear
that
Ancestry.com was buying Sorenson. So... Everyone knows what that means
... I love the info I find from Ancestry, but a lot of people resent their
methods. With Sorenson, there is some privacy still, I think. It is
definitely worth studying more & a very personal choice, I suppose.
However, I have chosen to participate & have spoken with another very
experienced researcher from another line who has also chosen to participate.
We'll see. Everyone just has to decide on their own. Free & be involved in
a more public database or pay & keep it more private? That is the choice if
you want to do DNA testing. It would be nice for it to be more affordable,
& it is compared to when it started, but it is not a household necessity &
therefore not something that a lot of researchers can justify. I was pleased
to find a "free" source to try. I just hope I don't regret it! I
encourage
everyone to find out all they can about it & please keep us all posted, as I
will do.
Melissa.

You mean you have to have another dna test done at a different place?
Sounds like they aren't doing the testing - they are just gathering
information.
So we are just giving them our genealogy information, paying someone else to
do the dna test and then they post it?
That's sounds like how
Ancestry.com started out
Hmmmmm better think that over some more
