Julian: A descendant of your Lt. Col. Richard Campbell has submitted DNA to
the Campbell project:
www.familytreedna.com/public/campbell
and it appears he was no kin whatsoever to Carolyn's Richard. He is kin to
a large number of other Campbells though. He is in Group 30, one of the
largest.

I am so sorry Julian, but that is a different Richard Campbell. I thought
for a long time he was mine, but found out that he died early and mine was
still living. Wish I could help.

Dear Campbell forumities.
Are there any connection to Lt. Col. Richard Campbell who in sept 8 1781 was
killed in the Battle of Eutaw Springs?
Thanks in advance.
Julian Campbell.

Carolyn, I had no idea you were in the DAR....that took a lot of research. I
think the post Mickey sent on the Campbell message board is explaining what
she was trying to say. This was found in Fairfield ,SC prior to Richard and
Rachel moving to Williamson TN. It is a sale of land belonging to James
Campbell, the oldest son of Richard Campbell by his first wife Susannah. His
wife signed the dower release for the land to be sold....being Smithy Smith,
sister to Rachel Smith Campbell.? Seems that sisters married a father and
son. Richard's signature is also on there, if I remember right. Haven't
looked at that one in a while. What I would like to know Carolyn, is on the
James Campbell you had a profile on that listed a William Kinchen Campbell,
the mother was listed as a Mary Dawson Kinchen.?I found a mention of his
will in some court records but did not see WK Campbell listed with the
children. Help....would like to know more about him please. thanks...
