Thank you so much for making the effort!
Other than a very few family photos (which are of Bales Campbell late in life), we know
very little about his immediate family; his father died two months before Bales was born,
and his mother remarried after Bales left home at about 10 years of age. Needless to say,
I would LOVE to learn more about him...and am grateful for any hints, clues, and
suggestions that people can give.
From what little I do know about him, Bales McColly Campbell was an
amazing man...who persevered in the face of some daunting personal (and physical)
challenges. He gave a lot to his community, and accomplished a lot in his life, (and
while I conceed that I may be a bit prejudiced), I still think he *deserves* to be
remembered by his decendants (and his clan).
