Hi Arlene
Many of the Campbells from the Hebrides went to Canada.
They went to the east coast and Ontario,My Isle of Mull
people settled in Bruce County and later went west and over the border to
the USA in the 1800s.The list seems to to made up of
the the 1700 wave who settled in the American South. This is fine and useful
but it would be great if we knew where there people came from in Ireland and
scotland.
It might be useful for finding relatives if each lister mentioned where
their ancestors came from in the old country in the subject line. This would
narrow the research
and would help with DNA testing.(see subject above).
Stay with the list and any other useful list and often cousins find you .
I was conneted by 3 cousins last year two in Canada and one from the states.
I was thrilled to find some Indians in the family.
regards Gerry

Subject: [Campbell] Reply, re: Canadian Campbell families
Dear Arlene,
Stick with this list. It is for all Campbell families, worldwide.
The Campbell families in Canada may have first been in USA, then later
moved
north to Canada, or the opposite migration route.
The Campbell families who arrived in USA or Canada probably started off in
Scotland or Ireland, most likely Northern Ireland (aka Ulster).
So at some point we will all be related back in time.
Keep posting you names, locations, and all questions you have, someone may
notice something from your information, and they might reply.
I notice you mention the place called "Campbell's Mountain". That sounds
immpressive! Were there alot of Campbell families there?
Best regards,
Lilly Martin
