I am a Campbell and I had my brother's Y DNA tested. It turns out we
are not Campbells but Stewarts and of the Royal Stewart line at that.
This result was very depressing because all the family research I have
worked on my whole life may be totally invalid. It depends on when the
Stewart DNA became part of the Campbell surname. So if any Campbells
with few matches with other Campbells turn up I would love to compare.
If we found a connection from several hundred years ago then my research
in the US would be possibly valid. My Campbells were originally in
Conn. (1700s) and Vermont, then Wisconsin, Kansas, and California.

Thanks for responding ! I am just getting into contacting my DNA
relatives on there. My Campbell line is so limited I am pretty sure chances are
slim to connect with any Campbell's that I don't already know, but ya never
know.
Please share any helpful hints for this newbie!
Have a great rest of your Sunday! It is a wonderful 72 sunny degrees
here in
upstate SC!
