My name is Melanie Lewis. My line to the Campbells runs like this:
Me, my mother-Charlotte Dale Thompson, my grandfather-Waller Horsely
Thompson, my g-grandmother-Henerietta Alice Lawhorne, my g-g-
grandmother-Missouri Ann Campbell, my g-g-g-grandfather, Willis P
Campbell.
Willis P Campbell was born somewhere around 1800-1804. In 1827, he
married Hannah Painter. I have a copy of the marriage license. He
and Hannah are on the 1830 census in Nelson County, VA. Neither of
them are on the census in 1840. In 1850, Hannah Campbell is listed
as head of house with a bunch of children, the oldest Elizabeth, who
was 21 in 1850, and the youngest Alexander, who was 3 years old in
1850. My g-ggrandmother, Missouri was 9 in 1850. If the youngest,
Alex was 3 then that means that Willis was around as late as 1847.
