Theresa,
North Carolina had a system of marriage bonds from Colonial Times until
something like 1850. All extant marriage bonds are in the NC State
Archives in Raleigh. (I have actually held in my hand the marriage bond
of my g-g-grandfather who was born in 1812.) The marriage bond
indicates the county in which it was issued. This should be of some
help to you. In addition the marriage bond has a Bondsman and this was
sometimes the father of the groom.

I don't know if my Campbell's are connected or not, but my
earliest Campbell
came from North Carolina.
The earliest Campbell I have is Daniel Campbell b. Nov 10, 1790 N.C., d. Mar
10, 1759 White Co., Tenn., he married Martha 'Patsy' Allison on Sep 4, 1811,
she was born Feb 27, 1791.
I don't know what part of N.C. Daniel was born.
They had the following children: William Pickett, b.1812, Nathaniel b. 1813,
Joseph Daniel b. 1814, John E. b. Dec 11, 1815, Nancy Grace b. Jan 8, 1822,
James M. b. 1828, all born in White County Tenn.
William Pickett Campbell was my GG Grandfather. They moved on into Adair
Co., KY., and some of his children moved into Wayne and Casey counties.
William and his wife Lucy Jane Allison had Joseph Jasper, John Newton, Betsy
M., Sallie A., James R., Eliza Martella, Naomi F., Bird S., and Nancy
Emaline.
James R. was my G Grandfather, he married Armelda Jane Loveall.
I keep watching these posts for a connection, but haven't seen any.
