Hi all,
I was just going back thru the public CAMPBELL YDNA results,
in group 40, and I'm hoping that those who tested...
are on this list.
My cousin, Kit # 72715, has several near matches in group 40.
Presently, we're waiting for another cousin to send in his kit,
but until it arrives...we're still working to match the group.
I've spotted some near-misses that are worth following-up. *S*
As a DNA Coordinator, GRIMES & ROSSER, I've learned that for
there to be kinship matches...NOT ALL THE NUMBERS have to match.
If they completely match then the connection is very close,
like father-son, and brother-brother.
If...in a sequence there's only two-three slots that are
not a full match...then it's not as close, but more like
a distant cousin match.
In this fashion, on my RICE side, we've permanently re-connected
two 1/2 brothers as sons of Samuel RICE (b.1744):
1. John Mosbey RICE, b. 1773, Cumberland Co., VA
2. Samuel Russell RICE, b. 1787, 'somewhere' KY
Just different mothers...as Samuel Sr was m. 3x. *S*
With this in mind...I've been looking at group 40's data,
and knowing that 72715 did a full 67 pt test, this gives
....some insight as to who may be close cousin kin.
A couple of these lines, hadn't left Scotland, so that
trying to figure out who the connection rests with
...is a problem. However...there are a couple that
did migrate to America, that may yield some clues.
The closest matches are:
52676....Esquire Boone (1819) MO...two digits off in 25
N6394....Samuel (1755)..Scot...full first 12 pt match
N47027...James (1795)...Scot...one digit off in 25
43974....James (1795)...Scot...one digit off in 25
26147....Colin (1749)...Scot...two digits off in 25
26148....Colin (1749)...Scot...two digits off in 25
83625....Mungo (1700)...Scot...matched 25-25
...............................four different at 37
58194...Hugh (c1730)....Scot...one miss in 25
....I really like this one.....three misses in 67
23011...John (1811).....??.....matched 25-25
....I really like this one.....three misses in 37
30260...John (1698)....VA......one miss in 25
46760...John (1775)....Scot....three misses in 37
82992...Elijah (833)...Ire.....three misses in 67
....I really like this one
54545...Donald (1862)..Scot....three misses in 37
The misses are by one digit...and are in the locations
in the sequence...to expect a cousin digit shift.
Our Charles CAMPBELL ("Snr") DNA Kit number 72715...is
estimated at 1732, but all we know for certain is that
...he was a married adult by about 1755.
So...his birth time frame could be earlier than 1730.
Considering that by our 'family tradition'...he died
after 1810 and before his son, Levi or Levy (1817),
I'm figuring of a time frame of 1720-1735.
Those who happen to have pedigree and migration information
for the kit numbers above...would you please contact me
.....off list??
You may not think that you have anything for me as clues
...but maybe...we can help each other. *S*
Thanking all and looking forward to sharing information,
Lisa Grimes
