Martha, I have a land record of "Polly Campbell" with a
list of Campbell
heirs from the Probate Court in Laurens. I'll find it and scan it for
you.
I got an Uncle to give DNA so that I could participate in the Campbell
DNA project. Are you participating?
When you wrote about "Charles" I didn't respond because I don't know
of
any Charles Campbells in our family....but now the "John and Mary
Campbell" names are very interesting considering the land records on
Enoree River....

Sorry about the other message. Anyway we know John and Mary Campbell was
in Laurens Co.,SC as early as 1778 because John was on Jury List. We also
know one of their sons was Charles Campbell.
In 1793 Charles Campbell was a witness for John Campbell when Charles and
Mary Kelley sell John Campbell 50 a. on Enoree River.
Charles is in Laurens Co. in 1800 census.
On Aug 1811 Charles Campbell sells to Moses Tennant 50 a. (part of grant
to Charles Kelley & Nathaniel Hillian) D.R. of Mrs. Arina Campbell, wife.
Charles is not found in Laurens Co. after this.
In 1810 in Greenville, SC one Carle Cammell is in census. Could this
possibly Charles Campbell?
In 1820 Charles Cammell is in Greenville.SC
In 1830 Charles Cambell is in Greenville, SC
In 1840 Charles Camel is in Greenville, SC.
Could the Charles Campbell who shows up in Greenville the son of John and
Mary?
