Well Jim,
last summer we "PROVED" that John Couch of that Ky bunch NEVER WAS MARRIED
to Elizabeth Campbell, (her sons father-in-law)
That is why I am looking for more information on the Orange Co Campbell bunch. too try
and prove a "theory" CORRECT....

Hi Vic.
We have communicated before.
I am on several sites with you, I sign "Jim R" on the Noble site,
Mary and
John Couch site, Miller site, Breathitt Co, site, Allen site, etc.
I am as confused as everyone else on this branch of the Campbell family.
Some say that the Elizabeth that Married John Couch was the divorced wife of
Patrick Campbell.
No one has prooved this as far as I know.
Last I heard, there appears to be two sets of John Couch and Elizabeth
Campbells.
I haven't looked too hard at this line as it seems they are not my
wife's
line.
There were two sets of Campbells that came to old Clay/Perry/Breathitt Co,
KY.
John and William, sons of Patrick settled down near Yerkes and Hazard.
Another John (possibly John Zachariah) settled up near Haddix at the mouth
of Troublesome and Lost Creek.
This latter John had sons Lewis, Caleb, and John C. Jackson Campbell. My
wife descends from Caleb.
Some (like Victor Jones) say that John, William, and Zachariah are three
brothers. I do not believe so.
Sorry I'm not much help,
Jim Robinson

Hi Jim,
Your name was given to me by someone from the Campbell roots web. list,
thinking you might be able to help me.
My name is Vicki Williams, I am from the Couch/Campbell's family from Perry
Co Ky.
There has been much confusion on these 2 families from Orange Co. & Perry
Co.
I would like to separate if possible.
My biggest concern is the families of the Dec 1783 Orange co marriage of
John Couch & Elizabeth Campbell.
John Couch's mother was Mary (nee; unknown) & father John Sr. When Sr
died
his widow Mary married a John Patterson in 1777 of Orange .
The information I have found on the Campbell family is Elizabeth (Besty) &
a
Robert Campbell. Unknown family ties. Would like to find information on this
Campbell family.
The girls of the Couch/Campbell marriage are: Mary, Julia, Letitia, Eleanor
& Elizabeth.
One girl married a Gregory, Eleanor & Elizabeth never married.
Do know of this Campbell family?
Jim, if you don't, thanks for your time.
Vic
