There is no match to Patrick Campbell, Grissel Hay, Delilah

Vicki, That may be true in the Campbell DNA studies. Elizabeth
James as a
wife of Patrick Campbell Jr., did not produce any children by a
Campbell.
In fact Patrick Jr. Divorced her, and went his own way. I am told
by other
researchers that evidence of this marriage and divorce existed in
Orange Co.
Therefore, COUCH marriage later of Elizabeth James as John Couch
2nd wife,
produced the Perry Co., KY bloodlines. CAMPBELL descents married
into
many Kentucky families thereafter. John Couch 1st wife Mary (Polly)
Boone 1746
- 1783 produced the bloodlines in the LEWIS lineage.
"The COUCH families of old John Couch
The James - Campbell lineage:
In the 16th century lived Mr. Isaac Taylor who fathered a daughter
"Lettice Taylor", who married William James. Their one daughter
born about 1755
"Elizabeth James" in Colonial Virginia, grew up to marry an
Irishman Patrick
Campbell Jr. of Pennsylvania birth, a son of Sr. (s/o) Patrick
Campbell
Sr. (b.1696 PA- d.1777 PA) & Delilah Thompson (b.1700) Dublin,
Ireland.
Patrick Campbell, Sr. was s/o emigrant Mr. John Campbell (b.1678-
Dublin--
d.1734 PA) & Grace Hay (b.1674 Dublin, Ireland, she died in PA).
John was
s/o Duncan Campbell (b. 1652) in Dublin - (d. 1727 in Dublin,
Ireland) &
Mary McCoy (Ireland). Duncan was s/o John Campbell Ist wife, Mary
Rich, both
of Dublin, Ireland in the 16th century.
A marriage license exists, of Elizabeth James and John Couch, dated
Dec.
1783 and a copy of this marriage is retained by descendant of IRA
Couch, s/o
Martin Couch"

ALL DOCUMENTED IN ORANGE CO & MECKLENBERGE CO.

1777 Orange Co. NC, Widow Mary Couch married widow John Patterson
age 60.
1783 Orange Co NC marriage of John Couch & Elizabeth Campbell.
1787 April 7 Orange Co NC John Patterson dies
1796 April Orange Co NC will of Mary Couch Patterson states:
(there is more, I will post later. vic 10/19/09)

First you have made assumptions in error of the JOHN COUCH of PA and
KY
buried in Hazard, Perry County, KY.
John Couch married 3 women and no more. First Mary (Polly) Boone
Second after her death, married Elizabeth James who was divorced by
Patrick
Campbell JR after a very short marriage.
Third after death of Elizabeth James, John married Widow Mary
Patterson,
and yes her data is recorded in Richmond, Virginia.
Mary Patterson has no children by JOHN COUCH - both were in old age
and
JOHN being so obese in physical size was never able to remarry a
fourth time
before he died in 1830 / 1833 era.
Hope that helps clear up the Mary Patterson marriages and her
children.
