I'm not sure you have correct Silas in the Civil War, for starters.
Your Silas b 1788 ish... Would have been 77 in 1865
The Silas in WI was born 1792ish and would have been 73 in 1865.
In 1850, the census recording was off...and the family enumerated with this
Silas is as follows:
Waukesha county WI (Oconomewoc)
Stamped page 370
Dwelling 224, family 236 lines 39-42
Wm Campbell 59 b NY
Eliz Campbell 58 b NY
Henry Campbell 27 b NY
Wm Campbell 25 b NY
There is a notation on this page that some families will be listed on
another page (I didn't find those dwelling numbers..but this was before Wm's
listing...he was last on the page).
I then go to
Stamped page 371 (which has a page with no number between it and 370...
should have been page 372)
No dwelling or family, lines 1-8
(Note that next dwelling listed is 225, fam 236...so this is the
continuation of the Wm Campbell family)
Hiram Campbell 17 b NY (son of Wm from page 370)
Silas Campbell 58, b NY
Lydia Campbell 55 b VT
John Campbell 12 b PA
N.A. Chase 25 b NY
C Chase 22 b NY
Abby Chase 3 b WI
Ella Chase 2 b WI
On the same page, near the bottom:
Dwelling 231, fam 242, lines 39-42
Jas. Campbell 55 b NY
Marbury Campbell 51 b VT
Jas D Campbell 21 b PA
Chester Campbell 18 b PA
Christina A 10 b PA
Then you have to go back one page, and you get what should have been page
372, but is not numbered...no Campbell at the top of the page...just starts
with dwelling 232, fam 243...so the James Campbell family should be
complete, if the census taker didn't leave anyone off.
If this is your line...then you will want to verify that Silas did join the
army, and not a nephew or son.
I would look closely at the Chase family. I did look at 1860 census...
Abby Chase is 13 & living with Wm Campbell family (the one that was 25 in
1850)...so living with an Uncle. I think C Chase (her mom) was C
Campbell...looks pretty firm. So, I don't find Ella or her parents. There
was a lot of Cholera & other epidemics before, during & after the Civil
War...the family may have suffered from one of them.
In 1860 Oconomowoc, Waukesha county WI
Written page 53
Dwelling 370, fam 371
Harvey Campbell 30 b NY
Hannah Campbell 33 b OH
Charles Campbell 9 b WI
William Campbell 7 b WI
Celesta Campbell 5 b WI
Harvey Campbell 4 b WI
Timothy Campbell 1 b WI
Betsey Campbell 68 b NY (Elizabeth in 1850)
Same Dwelling 370, family 372 (so living on same farm as Harvey)
William Campbell 38 b NY
Roseannah Campbell 28 b NY
Waltis Campbell 8 b WI (yes, it's Waltis, blew up the page to 200% to be
sure)
Martha Campbell 6 b WI
Abby Chase 13 b WI
Something happened between 1850-1860 to this family group.
Try searching using Ezekiel, not Ezkiel... You need that "e" after the z to
get results
Given names on ancestry have to be spelled as they are in the records, right
or wrong... The biblical spelling is Ezekiel.
Well, out of time for today...so best get going.

Subject: [Campbell] Campbell's of DeerPark NY and Bentley Creek PA
Good Day Campbell Researchers,
I have a problem I am praying someone will help me with. I am looking very
closely to the Campbell family from deer park New York to Bentley Creek Pa.
I am confused though. Joel had sons Jonathan, Nathaniel, Obadiah, Ezkiel,
Jemima ,William and Joel Jr.
Now I am finding a ton of information on
Jonathan and his family But nothing on Ezkiel. I am wondering if anyone out
there might be researching him and his children.
I am specifically looking for information on his son Silas born about 1788
in deer Park New York.
He married Lydia (unknown) Silas is on the 1820, 1830 and 1840 Tioga PA
census,
But on the Wisconsin 1850 Census where he enlisted onto the Civil War 25th
Wisconsin Infantry Regiment Rooster Page 1 Company K enlisting Aug. 12 1862
and
Mustered out June 7, 1865 I can not find him after that. Now on the 1830
census in Tioga he has 1 daughter born between 1810 and 1815, 2 sons born
between 1815 and 1820 and 1 son born between 1820 and 1825 and then when
they
move to Wisconsin in 1850 they have a John age 12 and a Hiram aged 17, I
am trying to link George W. Campbell born 1820 to parents father born new
(like Silas was ) and mother born Vermont (like Lydia was) Everything else
measures out but I have no idea whom Silas and Lydia's children all were
anyone that might help? And Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Catherine Campbell
