Hello folks,
New to the posting, so please excuse me if I'm covering old ground.
Looking for information (and supporting evidence) for the Line of Lawrence Campbell of
Virginia. He was born abt. 1735, but uncertain if it was in Virginia or Scotland. He is
listed as a Patriot for the DAR organization, as we know he was paid by a Colonel James
Higgenbotham of the Virginia Militia for his portion of commodities such as beef, tobacco
and clothing; but a letter from a descendant, the Reverend Francis Campbell Symonds listed
him as Major in his letters to DAR. He married a Henrietta Catlett, and died sometime in
1814 in Virginia.
Also, confirmation regarding eh marriage of his son, Captain Francis Lee Campbell. He
married an Ann (Nancy) Barnett, but supposedly remarried a second time, also to a woman
named Henrietta Catlett. Possibly a distant cousin (I hope). Can anyone confirm this
second marriage or when Ann died?
Regards,
Robert Richmond
