I thank you for your response. My Campbell's lived in Connecticut after
arriving in the USA . My Hugh Campbell was from Galston, Ayr and married
Mary Patterson in Sorn, now Dalgain, Scotland.There were a lot of

Wales!! The Patterson's that AT was referring to and the Campbell kid were
from Amherst County Virginia....

There was a Captain Hugh Campbell that brought a ship into the Colonies
in
the late 1690's and ended up in Norfolk County Virginia. Also there was a
Hugh Campbell from Augusta County Virginia that married the daughter of
Neil
Campbell in Amherst County Virginia in the late 1790 but he took his new
bride to Tennessee. Sorry but I doubt if we can help you unless your Hugh
Campbell relocated to the Coloniy of Virginia. BH Staunton Virginia.
