I sent to the Texas State Library for info on all the
Campbells that I tought might be my kin. Some of them may yet prove to be
mine--but not all of them.Thought I would share with you what I received
incase some of you are looking for these people.
#1 William Campbell of New York went to Galveston,Texas
in March,1839 and enlisted in the Army of The Republic of Texas.He also
received a $30 bounty for something and it
gives a physical description of him.He was 30 yrs old.
#2George W Campbell applied for a Confederate war pension
in 1899 in Leon CO.Texas.He had lived in Texas for 30 yrs
#3 J.B. Campbell of Bastrop,Tx testified on above Campbells behalf to get the
pension(no relation noted)
#4 W.E.Campbell Bounty receipts as a Texas Ranger
1893-1896/Cotulla,Texas
#5 D.W.Campbell Railroad Ranger 1923-1929/Service records
with physical description.etc.
#6 William M. Campbell/Centerville cemetery Jun.15,1838-Sept.14,1880.
These can be ordered online from the library or I will be glad to share the
info from ny copies if you think these maybe your Campbells
