Hi,
I need some help. Or a prayer!*S*
I am looking for my Campbell line. I found one member of the line, in
Illinois, or at least I think I have. But have not been able to find
anything written, to confirm that it is him.
Am hoping someone might have some suggestions.
This line is centering around Thomas B. Campbell. What I know about him,
is that his father's name was John, and that John was possibly married
to an Agnes( no last name).
Thomas married Mary Ellen Wilkerson, supposedly in Woodford co.,
Illinois, by 1857. But were not listed in the 1860 census for Woodford
co.
A lookup in the 1870 census, that was done for me, shows a Thomas
Campbell, in Macon co,Illinois.
In the 70 census, this Thomas Campbell was age 41, born in Tennessee.
His wife was named Mary, age 37, born in Indiana, same age as my Mary
Ellen, who was born in Indiana. But no mention of how many years they
had been married.
There are 5 children listed with this family, one of which, is age 18,
named Olive, who would have been born before my couple got married.
Olive and another child were born in Iowa, the other 3 children were
born in Illinois.
According the the history of austin twnshp, Thomas B. Campbell was a
superviser in 1868, in Macon county.
My library has no census records for Macon county, and said it could be
6 wks before it comes in.
Sorry about the length.
Is anyone recognize anything here, or have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sue Wilson
