I have posted before regarding my two seperate Campbell lines, but this
weekend I came across a whole little book about the descendants of Peter
Campbell of Scotland.
Peter's son, Peter Campbell II, came to Canada as a cabin boy at age 12
(1818), somehow he got to London, Ontario and in the process married Betsy
Mitchell. They had four children:
Nancy Campbell b. 1848
Alexander Campbell b. 1850
William Campbell b. 1852
John Campbell b. 1854 - abandoned family for Alaskan Gold Rush
and
was last heard from in Point
Barrow Alaska
Some of the children may have been born in Wisconsin, but by the mid-1870's
they were in Western Michigan, Newaygo County, Ashland Township. Alexander,
William & John all had children that raised families in or near Ashland
Township.
If you have Campbell's in the MI area and would like me to look through this
book, which contains hundreds of descendants, please let me know.
