I am reading microfilmed copies of the newspaper The Daily Advocate,
Belleville, St. Clair county, IL and came across this obit which I thought
might be of help to someone on this list. It reads: William R. Campbell, a
miner, died at his home, 614 East Monroe Street, this morning at 9 o'clock
after a lingering illness, aged 38 years, 6 months and 7 days. The
deceased was born in Du Quoin (Illinois) November 2, 1885, a son of Mr and
Mrs. James Campbell. He was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Young 19 years
ago. He is survived by his wife and three children, Ruby, Ruth and James
Campbell and his parents, Mr and Mrs. James Campbell. The remains will be
shipped to Du Quoin Saturday morning at 8:20 o'clock from the family
residence. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Du
Quoin. The date of the paper was Friday, May 4, 1924. Nancy Giles.
