My husband's line also goes back to New Jersey like yours. The
Campbells probably arrived about 1685. My husband had his yDNA
tested and we were able to match up with other Campbells who knew
their family history going back that far. We still have to fill in a
few blanks but at least we are able to zero in on specific families.
Our Campbell line travelled from NJ to NY (don't know where), Ohio
and then Hillsdale and Eaton counties in MI. John F. Campbell was
born in 1833 somewhere in NY and had 7 sons and 2 daughters in MI.
I wish I knew one of my male Campbell cousins to urge him to be tested,
but I don't. Are there any male descendants of John Preston Campbell
of Carlisle, Nicholas County, Kentucky out there (details below)? If
so, have you been tested? If so, what have you found from it? If not,
can I persuade you to be tested?
