Did your Campbells happen to move through Pennsylvania on their sojourn? I
am looking for a Mary Campbell who married Samuel Elliott circa 1777
supposedly inn/around Allentown PA before moving to Ohio around 1800
settling in Licking County, OH.

My husband's line also goes back to New Jersey like yours. The Campbells
probably arrived about 1685. My husband had his yDNA tested and we were able
to match up with other Campbells who knew their family history going back
that far. We still have to fill in a few blanks but at least we are able to
zero in on specific families. Our Campbell line travelled from NJ to NY
(don't know where), Ohio and then Hillsdale and Eaton counties in MI. John
F. Campbell was born in 1833 somewhere in NY and had 7 sons and 2 daughters
in MI.

Oh, we're all Yankees...;)
NY and NJ...my line was deported to the plantations of New Jersey for
supporting the 9th Earl of Argyll
Mmm, so that's Newark, NJ > Essex, NJ,>Orange, NY/Ulster,NY>Onondaga,
NY...something like that...
Now for myself, I've been in Florida almost 30 years now..... that NY
line doesn't seem to have much interest in their roots...'cept myself
that is...:)
