Would your Campbells of PA have a Mary Campbell born circa 1758????
Possibly to a Robert Campbell and Catherine Cunningham????

I just browsed across a message concerning Henry, and then subscribed to
CAMPBELL-L.
Not all the posted lineages on Rootsweb or
Ancestry.com or elsewhere are
correct. They of course all need verification.
Here is what I have on "uncle" Henry. I call him "uncle" because, he
may be
such, I have not documented a relationship yet, and he and his family
migrated from Mercer County, PA to Jackson County, PA with the family of my
3g-grandfather William C. Campbell (b 1817 PA) around the same time period
of 1853 or so. When Henry filed for a pension, my William wrote an
affidavit saying he knew Henry back in Pennsylvania.
There is a Henry Campbell b. 1790 [or 1791] in Westmoreland County, PA, and
died in Jackson County, IA.
There is also a Henry Campbell b. 1790 in Butler County, PA. Henry of
Butler County probably remained in Butler County his entire life, and I
believe he was married to Maria Covert.
Back to Henry of PA and IA. His first wife, Rebecca, died in the 1850s,
either in Mercer County, PA or in Jackson County, PA. He then married
Martha (sometimes listed as Mary) Graham of Rock Island, IL. Martha (Mary)
and he had no children. All of Henry's children are with Rebecca.
Now, back to your information on Henry's siblings. Are those from Butler
County, PA or Westmoreland County, PA? My William C. Campbell b 1817 PA is
probably a son of Robert and Matilda Campbell of West Lackawannock Twp,
Mercer County, PA 1840-1850 time frame. Henry Campbell from Westmoreland
County is in the adjacent township in Mercer County, PA in the 1840-1850
time frame. There is also in Sweezy Cemetery in Farmers Creek Township,
Jackson County, IA a grave for Mary (Mrs. Alex) Campbell , died 10-17-1857
aged 70. Others of Henry's relatives are buried in this cemetery. So
someone has assumed Henry's parents were Alexander and Mary Thorn Campbell
(parents of Henry of Butler County, PA). However, this Mary in Sweezy
Cemetery is NOT Henry's mother, unless she was 3 or 4 years old when Henry
was born. I think this Mary was Henry's sister-in-law.
I would love to exchange further information with you, to see if there is a
larger connection there, and if so, introduce you to some of Henry's
relatives from Iowa, and some of Robert's relatives from Iowa.
