Thank you Margie for responding.
I do not have access to important census records. I can get 1820, but
not 1830,1840 or 1850 census records. Searching for Matthew was a long
shot, as I am searching for the parents of Nancy Campbell b. ca 1780 in
the MD/ PA areas. Nancy Campbell married Joseph Cooper in 1802 in
Baltimore Co., MD. Brickwall.

Do you have access to the census page? Couple of Campbell's on
there.
Also a few Matthews...which may/may not be a clue to Matthew Campbell's
first name.
What I observed on the page about Matthew... He was deceased or not present
in the home when the census was taken.
The family consisted of 2 females 10-15 yrs; 1 each ages 16-25; 26-45; 45&
up)...considering one female could have been a mother/grandmother (or both
the older females were...just a theory, no info on this Matthew for myself).
If the theory is correct...there are 3 girls between 10 and 25 who may be
the daughters of Matthew).
Now, it show 3 persons engaged in agriculture...so, we either have the women
working the farm, or the men were not home...off selling maybe? Some census
takers would have listed a man gone to town, some didn't...figured they
would get counted elsewhere.
Also on the page is Aaron Camel
He had 1 male 16-25; 1 male 26-45; 1 male 45& up --- 1 female 16-25; 1
female 26-45
Again 3 persons engaged in agriculture.
Also, on the page were, Garret, Wm& Edwrd Matthews. I won't list family
members for them...just thought it interesting.
My hubby's line has/had a Matthew Campbell also. Matthew Camel/Campbell b
abt 1832 in AL...only shows as a number on 1840 census (as all do); and is
on 1850 census for Shannon county MO.
We have no clue where he went off too, or what happened to him.

Do any of the Campbell researcher have any knowledge of a Matthew Campbell
living in Baltimore County, MD who appeared in the 1820 census there.
Did he have a wife Nancy and/or a daughter Nancy?
