AT;
If we are working with two different Moses Campbells how come that both have identical
children by given names; both filing identical wills in Bedford County and both dieing in
1792? Yet, refer to the official legal record, the 1783 Amherst County head of household
census, and you will find this one Moses Campbell with a household of 10. There is no
official or reported record of him being born in Bedford County or living in Augusta
County that has ever surfaced as I can recall????
By 1776, our Campbell ancestors had already been living in the colonies about 100 years -
By 1776 they were well established in Amherst County owning as much as 400 acres of land
and living a pretty good life. Being treated pretty well I would suspect. Regards BH.

NOW Let Me introduce you eo The ANGUISH McLOUD Experience; Anguish was Recruited in 1776
into what was to become the 71st Highlanders. Major General Simon Fraser, who had many
contacts with Clan Chieftans from, western Scotland,
did the recruting. the Highlandes were PROMISED LAND for their military service . After
training around Glasgow, the soldierts MARCHED to greenwich where they joined the famed
42 of Blackwatch. there the BRITISH assembled 3,000 troops & 34 ships. ON April
29/1776, the expidition left Greenwitch Harbor and began its descent down the Irsh Sea to
the Atlantic into a major Spring storm. After four days the Oxford (Anguish's Ship)
and the Crawford became seperated from the rest of the fleet . On june 19th, 1776 upon
reaching Hampton Roads, Virginia , these men found them selves the first enemy prisoners
of the American Revolution . The Continental Army was not prepared to deal with
prisoners: the Scots were marched to Williamsburg where the Virginia Committe of safety
& the 5th Virginia
Convention debated these mens future. the comitte concluded to disperese the Scots into
central & Piedmont VA. to be used & kept at work.
