So basically its akin to FamilySearch.org's Ancestral files and Pedigree
Research files....
I've noticed lately they've been jamming trees together also with added
notes that certain individuals, which they list and are probably where
they took the info from, may or may not agree with what's listed...
So it seems that what you describe is not limited to
Ancestry.com....which is kind of a shame because I'm always looking for
things to gripe about
for....lol
Thanks...

of all the trees on Ancestry, OneWorldTree is the first and foremost

you can look at my genealogica tree.
oh, I raged at them when I saw it. they took my data from my Rootsweb tree, stuck it in
OWT without asking permission, and jambed totally unrelated people that I never had in my
tree
onto it. and they've done that to hundreds of peoples trees, mangling them
irrevocably, and they refuse to remove OWT, or even make corrections even though lots of
people have
complained. never, ever use OneWorldTree. EVER! you'll get some really bad data out
of it. far better to do the actual document research yourself, and not even glance at OWT
because it
can misdirect you terribly.
at least, look for individual's trees at WorldConnect, Ancestry (other than OWT) or
in people's personal websites online. then you can figure out how accurate the tree is
and what you
should do from that point on.
