In follow up with those that have posted James as the father of
Joseph, none so far can provide a source - other than the timing and place
fits. The
most prominent researcher and author of the Book "Tidewater Families of
Virginia",, written by Virginia Davis (now decd)) suggest that a possibility
exist that Joseph Campbell that married Elizabeth Peatross , may be George
Campbell Senior that was born in 1700 and died in 1749.
I do not believe anyone has provided a source or documented the fact that
the wives of Henry and Lawrence and now James were in fact Catlett's. No
doubt that the wives of Henry and Lawrence were
in fact Catlett's - as the information has been passed down for many years
by family members. The Catlett clans were prolific and could have
provided many beautiful wives in both Spotsylvania and or Caroline Counties.

Well, they are showing this as the reference for James being the
father;
3.
Ancestry.com, One World Tree (sm), Provo, UT, USA: The Generations

I don't use
Ancestry.com so I'm not familiar with this database. Anyone
know what the nature of it is? Is it simply GEDCOMs people have uploaded
or something more?
