You pose an interesting dilemma. I suspect that somewhere in your families
past you will find a Stewart that was adopted into the Campbell family,
probably a neighboring family to where the Stewarts located. It is not
unlikely that your ancestry is really a Stewart and records would not show
it. I recommend that you go to your ftDNA page and join the Stewart
Project, allowing them to see your DNA results, and possibly you might
discover the Stewart from which the Y-DNA originates. There are many
reasons for a name to appear today different from what it originally was.
Please share what you discover.

I had my brother's DNA tested to the 67 marker level. At that
level
everyone was a Stewart, not a Campbell. Our name is Campbell. I can
trace our Campbell's back to Andrew Campbell of Mansfield, CT. It
would be interesting to see the DNA results from another descendant of
Andrew Campbell.
I believe Andrew was the immigrant. I'd like to know if the Stewart DNA
appeared in Scotland or America.
