Thank you, Diarmind. That flag is our history and has made us (our
country) what it is today. Bigotry is bread, bigotry is taught, none of us
are born with it so I say, let's look past it....if that state capital wants
to fly that flag let them, we are one country formed from all other
countries.....Let us be the proud nation we are and if you don't like that
flag, don't look at it. I had ancestry's that owed slaves that fought for
the union, I had ancestry's that didn't own slaves that fought for the South.
It was a war that put brother against brother and I am proud of both sides
because they stood up and fought and died for what they believed in. They
stood on principal and they died for it. In today times it is not right to
own another human being, but at that time it was no different from owning
livestock....not right I agree, but that is what they were raised to believe
was right and acceptable. The farther I get my genealogy they more I know,
we are all bother"s and sister:s under the skin. You don't want bigotry then
don't teach your children that is the only thing that flag stand for. We are
one nation, under God.
