Kathryn, You said that Mary Kerr married Archibald Campbell. Do you know
if they had any children? I am looking for an Archibald Campbell that was
born in North Carolina around 1820, was in Tennessee in 1850, and was living
in Jackson County, Arkansas by 1860. Two of his children, Sarah A. and
John P. (Pickney) were both born in Tennessee in the 1850's and I don't
know who their mother was. Later children were Archibald, William and Jane.

I, too, am interested in Archibald Campbells. I've been watching the name
in Rowan and Stokes Counties, NC.
The name appears as early as 1778 and 1784, on Rowan County tax lists, along
with John Campbell Sr. and Jr., but it is missing on subsequent Rowan lists.
However, the name reappears on censuses in Stokes County NC after 1800.
Since Archibald (or two Archibalds) seems, after 1800, always to live near
the John Campbell in whom I'm most interested, I am fairly certain that the
two must be part of the same family. While I don't know anything of his
Campbell family, I do know that John Campbell (b. 1775 NC) was a nephew of
Horatio Hamilton and the probable son of Horatio's sister, Mary Hamilton.
If anybody know anything about Rowan/Stokes/Forsyth NC Campbells, I'd be
most interested in hearing from them.
Maureen

I would be interested in your Archibald Campbell. Was his father's name
Benjamin Smith Campbell? If yes, please contact me. I realize it's a long
shot because Archibald Campbell is a fairly common name.
