We share the same family. I am descended from Jacob's brother Noble
Campbell. Their parents and James & Elizabeth Campbell. I think her maiden
name is Eveland but I have not yet proved that. Yes I am sure he was born
in Muskingum Co - as were some of the other children. have been in contact
with a lady in Kansas who is also a descendant of Jacob & Ellen. I will
look up her name & email & get back with you. Perhaps you already have that
though, since you know that they were in Kansas.
The other children in the James Campbell family were as follows:
Mariah b 1805 VA, William b 1807 VA, Noble b 1808 VA, James T. b 1814 VA,
Thomas Jefferson b 1819 Ohio Co, VA (now WV), Charity b 1823 Oh, MaryJane b
1830 Oh, Elizabeth b ?, and George Washington B ?
Thomas Jefferson Campbell married Elizabeth Blunt - sister to Ellen. They
went to Green Co, Wi - Noble went to Fayette Co., Iowa.
I think that the family moved to Muskingum Co abt 1820/21 from WV. James
was b 1783 or 1788 - depends on which record. He served in war of 1812, but
I have not yet got his military records. If we could get those I think it
would help. I only found out a few weeks ago that they were from WV area,
now that should help narrow it down some. James died 1862 - buried in
Zanesville - Greenwood Cemetary. Don't know what happened to wife Eliz. as
in 1849 James married again to Elvira Crozier.
I would love to get your family history so that I can put it in my records.
Do you have pictures of Jacob & Elllen? I have one of Noble, sent to me by
one of his children's descendents.
Looking forward to hearing from you again. Where in MN are you from? I am
originally from WI. now in WA state.

Subject: OH/KS Campbell's
Hello List, first time caller, so to speak. Looking for some info on
my
g-g-grandfather, either farther up the line or more details on his
descendant
besides my direct line.
Jacob Campbell
~ born abt. 1824 in Ohio, probably in Muskingum County, maybe Zanesville
~ married Ellen Blount on 2/10/1845 in Muskingum County
~ moved to Kansas sometime before the 1870 census
~ died 5/30/1903 in Johnson County, KS
~ Children:
Augusta, b 1846
Harrison, b 1847
George, b 1849
Martha, b 1851
Millard, b 1854
Elvira, b 1855
Josephine, b 1856
Almeda, b 1859
Infant (?), b 1860 (probably died young, 2 mos. old in 1860 census,
not shown in 1870 census)
Artismea, b 1861
Jacob, b 1863
Elmer Scott, b 1868 (my g-grandfather)
All of the kids except Augusta and Harrison went with Jacob and Ellen to
Kansas so there may be a trail in OH. Thanks in advance for any
assistance.
Regards,
Chris Campbell, MN
