I've just begun my quest. So far:
Grandfather
3. James Larkin Campbell - b. 1916, d. 1966 - m. Wilma Chapin -b. 1913 d. 1965
and produced one son; James Chapin Campbell
Great-Grandfather
4. James Canevin Campbell - b. ?, d. ? - m. Ella Larkin (date unknown)
and produced 4 children:
(3) James Larkin
Paul Larkin - no children
David Larkin - no children
John Larkin (?) d.? - no children
Great-Great-Grandfather
5. Thomas E. Campbell- b.approx. 1848, d. approx. 1947 -m. Ms. ? Canevin -
date unknown (sister of Regis Canevin)
Thomas had two (to the best of my knowledge) sons:
John C?
(4) James Canevin
John owned a funeral home in the Garfield section of Pittsburgh, PA, and at
some point moved to the midwest - possibly Kansas. He may have married there
and had children.
Thomas worked for Westinghouse, and is reputed tohave built the first
airbrake. There was a news story written in one of the local newspapers
about him at that time. It also featured a picture showing the four
generations of Campbells - Thomas, James Canevin, James Larkin, and James
Chapin.
Thomas had a brother, John, who (it is believed) was born within a year or
two of Thomas. John died at the approximate age of 50 (around the turn of
the century?).
I have been unable to locate any definite vital statistics for either Thomas
or John, but do know that they came here from Ireland. I don't know anything
regarding spouses or other children.
