On this 17th day of July 1879 personally appeared before me a Clerk of
the Court this same being a court of record ithin and for the said County
and State Rachel Campbell who being duly sworn according to law declares
that she is 48 years of age and the Mother of Ransford Campbell who was
a Private of Co.I 45th Regiment Penna Volls. who enlisted on the February
1894 and died while a member of said organization as aforesaid on the 11th
day of April 1864 at the U.S. General Hospital at Annapolis Md.
She further declares that her said son upon whom she was depending for
her support and maintenance having left no widow or children surviving
him declareth makes this application for the purpose of being placed on
the Pension Rolls of the United States in Conformity with this Act of Congress
in such cases made and provided-- She further declares that at the time
her said son enlisted and died as aforesaid she had living James Everton
Campbell aged fourteen years, Richard Campbell aged about twelve years,
Jacob Campbell aged four years, Aarvila Campbell aged two years, Ethalinda
Campbell aged about eight months. Declarant furthes stated that she was
married to Hiram Campbell father of her said son who enlisted and the other
children named - on the 19 day of April 1845 - and that her said husband
is living and has been crippled in his left knee - Ever since they were
married - Declarant further states that she has in no way aided or abetted
the Rebellion in the United States That she has never before applied for
a pension - that while her said son was in the Army as aforesaid he sent
home forty dollars for the use of his said father and declarant his mother
- and that before he enlisted he worked away from home and gave to his
father and declarant all the money that he earned all of which can be shown
by evidence of declarant neighbors.
Declarant hereby appoints Henry M. Foote of Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pa.
her true and lawful attorney to present her claim That her residence is
Antrim, Tioga County.., Pa., which is her post pffice address.

appeared Warren Lewis residing in Morris, Tioga Co, Pa., and William Emmick
of same place - persons whom I certify to be respected and Entitled to
credit and who being by me duly sworn say they were present and saw Rachel
Campbell the claimant sign her name to the foregoing declaration and from
their knowledge and aquaintance with her they believe her to be the identical
person she represents herself to be and that they have no interest whatsoever
in her claim.
