I am working on getting some papers from Scotland which will tell one way or
the other about Gilbert. One of the best places to start might be Ireland.
If Sir James was the Governor under the British Crown, he would have spent
some time in Ireland. I think that maybe where Gilbert's sister Mary met
Michael Woods. The Woods family were prominent in Ireland and of English
extraction. I'm sure the family approved of the match. Hang in there, we
will find the truth.
