Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
If you are a member of the Campbell DNA project, the Family Tree test is discounted. I think it came to around $130 for the 37-DNA test, which is what they recommend. If you go to the Campbell DNA project page, all the info should be there.

Lindalee - The Campbell DNA project is through Family Tree DNA, so it is easiest to join if you use their test kit. But you can do the DNA through any testing company and manually upload to the project if you want.
I linked up to 2 Campbells I never knew about through the Campbell DNA project. We still haven't figured out how we are connected, but the DNA is solid that we are related within 6 generations.

Thanks for responding ! I am just getting into contacting my DNA relatives on
there. My Campbell line is so limited I am pretty sure chances are slim to
connect with any Campbell's that I don't already know, but ya never know.
Please share any helpful hints for this newbie!
Have a great rest of your Sunday! It is a wonderful 72 sunny degrees here in
upstate SC!

No Betty it is a DNA test, my hubby gave it to me as a present. They send me lists of others who tested with them who are related to me. I have communicated with several matches but not enough to figure out how we are related. My research has been mostly straight Campbell line so I will have to branch out more!
Lindalee
PS it also health info in addition to the genealogy aspect

I am a Campbell and I had my brother's Y DNA tested. It turns out we
are not Campbells but Stewarts and of the Royal Stewart line at that.
This result was very depressing because all the family research I have
worked on my whole life may be totally invalid. It depends on when the
Stewart DNA became part of the Campbell surname. So if any Campbells
with few matches with other Campbells turn up I would love to compare.
If we found a connection from several hundred years ago then my research
in the US would be possibly valid. My Campbells were originally in
Conn. (1700s) and Vermont, then Wisconsin, Kansas, and California.

People should also be aware that the project itself includes only y chromosome test for direct male descendants. I am saving up to test my brother.
