Kayla and others interested;
The Caroline Historical Society book being published this coming fall has
been delayed but when it is published I believe more breaking news will be
found. So be sure to purchased a copy when released.
Virginia Davis “suspected” or “suggested” that Joseph may be a brother to
our George Campbell Jr and a son of George born 1700 died 1749 – but there
are many other logical possibilities of Joseph’s father as well. Look at
the clan’s naming pattern!!! We have George, John, James, William and
Henry in nearly ever generation. When and were does a Joseph show up? Ray
stated that “Elliott” is a significant given name in Joseph’s family
being used in each generation. . Even Ray has a brother named “Elliott”.
We know that there is a physical kinship between Joseph and George but
what the “cousin” relationship is, is another story. Perhaps the DNA test
will provide some insight. Another significant potential player is Captain
Whitaker Campbell from the same Tidewater area and same time period. He
may come into play as well. There is a lead on a potential live male
descendent from Whitaker that it is hoped we can continence to take the DNA test
as well.
Kayla: Since you are a direct descendent t of Joseph please stay in
touch. You may be of great help in our further search. Regards BH
