Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I personally look at Cuz AT as an elder of our Clan and am most grateful
for his knowledge and stories...There is a way to unsubscribe if need be and
those that do not like what is posted here are more then welcome to do just
that...Have a wonderful day...
WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA - EAST TENNESSEE LATE 1700S TO EARLY

You might check for Campbells in Monroe County TN - Tellico Plains
area. I noticed several of them while working on the Bucky Hunt family.

Hello List,
We have had more than enough messages on the list about certain
individuals. This list for the research of the Campbell families
anywhere in the world. Anyone who continues to post message about
anyone on the list will be placed on moderation, this means that
messages will take longer to reach the list.
I manage several lists on Rootsweb and this is the only one where
members act more like children, at times, than adults, so please, act
like the adults you are.
Regards,
Tom Hesler, Campbell List Manager

Shoot! At first glance, none of your Sandpoint Campbells seem like a match,
but I'll do more digging later (harvest is coming in and my first pig is
getting butchered tomorrow) and see if I can turn up any connections.
Here's a list of the Campbells buried at Seneacquoteen Cemetery in Bonner

their in-laws buried there too (Moores & Graves mostly)-

Not everyone is perfect, and a while back we had a discussion about this. Cousin A T I don't mind. It's others who are perfect. There is only one man who is perfect and he isn't here yet.

Campbell Researchers,
All the politeness aside, I have subscribed to this list for almost ten
years and must comment that sometimes I learn things from AT and I am
thankful for his insight, knowledge of the S. VA Campbell family, enthusiasm
and patience with us citified Campbells, but having said that it also is my
perception that AT can also be domineering, rude and can sometimes block-out
or take-over other researchers questions, comments and keep others from
joining into the conversations. I do not believe this is his intent, but it
becomes a perception based on his boldness on the Clan subjects. We wouldn't
interrupt the preacher during church just because we did not agree with what
he said during the sermon.
To add to this comment, I believe many Campbell researchers have decided
just to ignore him and have chosen not to engage him or justify their
positions which may potentially take away from the value of the list. Again
this is my humble opinion and probably why so many Campbell researchers are
now choosing to contact each other directly via phone or e-mail, as opposed
to posting in this forum. I believe they feel they may run the risk of AT
jumping into something that he may not fully understand or agree with and
thus this detracts from others participating and this appears to degrade the
intent of the forum.
The analogy I have here is in a school classroom setting, and you have one
person trying to dominate every conversation whether they know the answer or
not. I respect this great enthusiasm and energy, but we all must have
respect and courtesy for other's opinions, goals and research. These
tenants should always be paramount when considering when and what to
responded on when posting to anyone's query for assistance. As cold as this
may sound, personal current/today information is not necessarily relevant to
finding one's ancestors, and I believe that it should be discussed directly
with individuals, not the tens of thousands of others who have a focused
mission to find that one special brick in the elusive wall.
We all may want to consider that in the 1800s the Campbell surname was the
fifth most common name in the United States and there are literally hundreds
if not thousands of other Campbell families who immigrated into the country
and that many of these families are not any direct relation to ATs slice of
the Clan. My particular Campbell family apparently may have come from John
Campbell, Washington County, VA 1770-1810 so I have an average chance of
being a distant cousin with AT.
And on a final note, I really do not care how AT responds or what language
he chooses to use in his responses. I have seen much more difficult writing
and generally understand his writing style and give him kudos for typing
away on the keyboard and communication with the forum. Many researchers and
Internet users have learned or been taught that when you capitalize
something in e-mail it is considered shouting, and can be very distracting
from the intended purpose. I know as I read is ATs e-mails SHOUTING, (my
perception) it can be annoying.
Having said all the above, I will go back into my researcher hole and hope
that we all strive to respect each other's research, dreams and goals. AT
for you my friend keep us (researchers) straight, but also give us some
leash so we can grow. For other researchers, please do not let AT dominate
the list and post your information so we all can learn and benefit. Thank
you for the opportunity to comment. Delete away my post and I will not be
offended. Happy Hunting!!

I haven't read all of the postings, I just want to remind everyone that our
Creator... by whatever name you know him... made us all unique.
All the rootsweb lists are open to ANYONE interested in that particular
subject. Many are serious about their research. I'm serious, but don't
have alot of time. And I do use my delete key based on the subject line
typically. I just happened to read a thread on this.
I have had difficulty at times understanding AT's way of writing... but I do
believe there's good info to be found in there... Just nothing I can
connect to.
Bottom line, just remember... we're all in this together... and we all have
our own quirks and perks. Doesn't make them right or wrong... it just
showcases our Creators talent for variety.
Just don't kick a dead horse... all you do is hurt your toe. Bury it and
move forward.
Have a blessed day!

Well said Bob - thanks, it needed to be said.
I fall into the category of those you refer to in the second paragraph.
Good luck all
